Global Entertainment Corporation(AMEX: GEE) ("Global" or the "Company"), established in 2000 as a holding company, currently has six wholly owned subsidiaries and is engaged in sports management, arena and related real estate development, facility and venue management and marketing, venue ticketing and branded licensing. Central Hockey LeagueThe Company's history dates to the 1995 creation of the Western Professional Hockey League, Inc. ("WPHL"). The WPHL developed a minor professional hockey league in the southwestern area of the United States and experienced five successful years of operation growing from its inaugural six teams in the 1996-1997 season to a high of sixteen teams three years later. In 2001, the WPHL successfully negotiated a joint operating agreement with the Central Hockey League ("CHL") and began the 2001-2002 season with sixteen teams under the CHL moniker. The newest franchise team to join in the 2005-2006 season is located in Youngstown, OH. International Coliseums CompanyIn November 2000, Global acquired International Coliseums Company ("ICC"). At the time, ICC had a two-year operating history and was established with an emphasis on the development of multi-purpose events centers throughout the United States. ICC continues to utilize the expertise of the original founders who together have over twenty-five years experience in the development of multi-purpose events centers with capabilities to design, build, manage and operate the developed facilities. ICC's initial centers, one in Colorado and one in Texas, opened in 2003 in time for the 2003-2004 hockey season. ICC also built Chevrolet Centre which opened in October 2005. The Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM and Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, AZ were ICC's last completed buildings. Currently ICC is building the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center in Wenatchee, WA, scheduled to open in Fall of 2008. ICC developed centers are guaranteed a master tenant through the WPHL as the franchisor of minor league professional hockey teams. ICC also facilitates the purchase of all furniture, fixtures and equipment for developed multi-purpose events centers. Global Entertainment Marketing SystemsIn 2001, Global formed Global Entertainment Marketing Systems ("GEMS") to promote, market and sell assorted revenue streams for established facilities, as well as developing ICC facilities. GEMS contracts to sell all contractually obligated income (COI) sources including, facility naming rights, luxury suite sales, club seat licensed sales, facility sponsorship agreements and ticket operations contracts. Cragar Industries, Inc.In 2004, the Company completed a merger with Cragar Industries, Inc. - licensor of one of the most famous automotive aftermarket trademarks in history - CRAGAR. The licensing and marketing opportunities for CRAGAR branded products, particularly with respect to markets in which hockey franchises are located, blends with current licensing and marketing that is available through the operation and management of the CHL and related activities. Global Entertainment Ticketing (GetTix.net)Adding to Global's strategy to offer a full package approach to mid-sized communities that develop a multi-purpose events center, Global formed an in-house ticketing company in June 2004. Marketed as GetTix.net, the ticketing company provides a dual benefit by establishing a more reliable, cost effective ticketing system for Global's existing CHL teams, as well as total ticketing service for all venue events in newly developed centers. Global Entertainment Ticketing (www.GetTix.net) provides a full in-house ticketing solution by way of box office, phone, Internet and print-at-home service that utilizes distribution outlets in each market. Powered by state-of-the-art software, ticketing capabilities include data base flexibility, easy season and group options, better financial reporting and full marketing resources. Encore Facility ManagementBeginning in 2006, Global developed Encore Facility Management is our own in-house full service facility management company. Encore presently manages the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Encore will also manage the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center in Washington once it is complete, it is currently under construction. Global Properties IGlobal Properties I (GPI)was introduced in 2006 to be Global Entertainment's development arm working with municipalities that have expressed interest in developing multi-purpose events centers, along with the surrounding real estate. GPI has the ability to initiate the market feasibility process, determine site availability and suitability, analyze adjacent development opportunities, and seek out strategic development partners, as appropriate, in order to meet the goals and objectives of municipalities or to proceed alone on projects that meet specific criteria for development by GPI. The addition of new retail and commercial development adjacent to a new multi-purpose events center increases the overall attractiveness of the project. |
